Many of my best childhood memories were spent with you and Nanny,
It all seems like yesterday which feels so uncanny.
We used to wait for Nanny to come out of weight watchers at field place,
You used to time us on our scooters whilst we had a race.
We used to play cards for pennies but draughts was my fave,
Oh how I wish we could go back to those days.
You used to move your counters when Lauren and I weren’t looking,
Whilst Nanny would have dinner on the stove bubbling away, cooking.
You would take your camera where ever you would go,
Ready to film us whilst we performed you a show.
I’ll never forget the time you tried my pogo stick,
I thought it was cool that you wanted to try out some tricks.
A photo album was never far from your hand,
Thank you for all the moments you’ve captured on cam.
All these things I will never forget,
Like your cheeky one liner, ‘cheese sandwich please Bet’.
These are some of the greatest memories I’ve ever had,
And are just a few reasons why you are the best Grandad!
